Jun 30, 2015 01:15PM ● By Steven Hoffman

The Newark Arts Alliance (NAA) announced that spaces still remain for Camp Imagine, the annual children’s camp held every August, now celebrating its 17th year. In addition, scholarship funds are still available for families who qualify based on household income.

Camp Imagine is a unique opportunity for children ages 7 to 11 to explore the arts in a wonderfully creative setting during the summer. There are two week-long sessions, and instruction is different each week, so children can attend for both weeks or just one. Week One is August 3 – 7 (Monday – Friday), 9:00 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Week Two is August 10 – 14 (Monday – Friday), 9:00 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. The maximum number of children that can register for each week is 36. The price for camp is $225 for one week or $450 for two weeks, and reduced rates are available based on household income. To apply, a parent or guardian simply must complete our application form, available at www.newarkartsalliance.org/camp

Camp Imagine offers a full day of arts instruction, with three hours of visual arts in the morning and three hours of performing arts in the afternoon. The performing arts curriculum includes theater, singing, and dance. Skilled professionals share their love of the arts and help each child’s creativity blossom. Camp Imagine is held offsite at Newark Center for Creative Learning, 401 Phillips Ave., Newark, DE, to allow more children to participate.

Children bring their own lunch and morning snack. Afternoon snack is provided. Pre-care and after-care are available for additional fees.
