The Newark Arts Alliance is presenting the annual dessert bash, “The Art of Dessert,” on Friday, Feb. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event is a celebration of the culinary arts with a variety of desserts from 15 popular Newark restaurants. Guests will enjoy all-they-can-eat specialty creations prepared by local chefs and then vote for their favorites. Admission is $15 per person, which includes free soft drinks and coffee, plus a cash bar. Tickets can be purchased in advance from www.newarkartsalliance.org and at the door at the Newark Arts Alliance. All proceeds will support the Newark Arts Alliance’s exhibitions, programs, and classes.
During the party, everything in the Newark Arts Alliance’s Gallery Shop and Exhibition Gallery will be 10 percent off, perfect for Valentine’s Day shopping. This sale includes art in the February exhibition, “In Black and White,” juried by Peter Saenger and on view February 2 – 27. This exhibition offers art that is predominantly black, white, or black and white.
As guests leave, they will each receive a goody bag. This bag will contain discounts at many of the participating restaurants, nice for dining after the party, or another time.
