Delaware celebrates Arbor Day

Apr 29, 2015 01:48PM ● By Steven Hoffman
On May 1, Governor Jack Markell, members of the Delaware General Assembly, and officials from Delmarva Power and the Delaware Forestry Service will be offering a tribute at 10 a.m. in the Appoquinimink School District’s Outdoor Classroom, a unique facility dedicated to providing Delaware school children with hands-on lessons about renewable energy. High school principal Keisha Brinkley will join the assembled guests to deliver a message about environmental responsibility. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. that morning, 90 students from our Agriscience classes will be working to plant 31 trees donated to the Bunker Hill Campus by Delmarva Power. The Outdoor Classroom is located at 1080 Bunker Hill Road, Middletown (between Bunker Hill Elementary and Appoquinimink High).
