After needing to reschedule due to snow, the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce put on its 7th Annual Spring Expo on March 12. Originally scheduled for March 5, the event saw more than 1,200 attendees (200 more than last year's event), 95 vendors, restaurants and more. Nonprofits were also represented at the expo.

The event, which took place from 3 to 7 p.m., was free and open to the public and took place at Townsend Fire Hall, 107 Main St.

Nonprofit participants included the MOT Jean Birch Senior Center, the MOT Big Ball Marathon, the Middletown Rotary Club, Our Daily Bread, Delmarva Boy Scouts, and Relay for Life.

Other benefits of attending the expo each year include networking, fabulous fare and prizes.

This year a Celebration of MOT Community Gives Back was held, along with the popular taste of MOT featuring complimentary food and beverages, wine tastings, and samples of some of the menu items from the area's newest restaurants.

"The Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce strives to be the premiere Spring Expo in the Delaware Region offering an opportunity for sponsors, corporate exhibitors and vendors to promote their businesses to the surrounding community," the chamber website says.
